What this site is

This is an independent editorial site about how websites evolve in the age of AI. It publishes practical guidance for two readers at once: business owners who run a site and need to make decisions about it, and developers who do the work. The subjects are speed, security, SEO-safe changes, AI crawlers and AI search, platforms, and the refresh-versus-rebuild question.

Nothing is sold here — no agency services, no sponsored placements, no lead funnel. The guides are the whole product. The site is based in Canada and written for a global audience; where money comes up we give ranges rather than quotes.

Methodology

Every guide is grounded in primary sources — web.dev for Core Web Vitals, MDN for web platform behaviour, vendor documentation for crawlers and platforms, and the standards bodies (RFCs, llmstxt.org) where they apply. Two rules keep the content honest:

  • Facts that rot are dated. Anything version- or threshold-dependent carries "as of <year>" in the sentence, and each guide declares an as_of year under its title.
  • Commands are real. Config snippets and commands in guides are either ones we have actually run or verbatim from the linked primary docs — the guide's sources comment says which.

When we recommend a tool or platform, the same section includes the case against it. Recommendations that trade one cost for another say so.

Editorial policy

Guides are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed and edited by a working developer before publication — we say this plainly because it is the honest account of how the content is made, and because the site argues for exactly this kind of disclosed, reviewed AI-assisted work. No vendor pays for coverage and there is no sponsored content.

Corrections: if a guide is wrong, use our contact form and we will fix it and note the change. Substantive corrections update the guide's updated date.
